Family Photographer London

Real moments with the people who matter most

I want your family photography to feel less like a photoshoot and more like having a friend with a camera along for the day — someone who can wander through the park with you, hang out at home or simply be there while family life happens. The best photographs are often the ones nobody thought to pose for. I also offer mini photography sessions in London for families looking for something shorter.

Family Photography Across London

★★★★★

“Twiggles took some lovely shots of our 2 young sons in Richmond Park during a mini session. We got a range of compositions against different backdrops. She was friendly and good with kids so there were no tantrums. Great if you want some nice shots of your kids at a certain age, and you want to be in some of them too rather than being the one taking the photo,”

“Twiggles has been the photographer for my daughter Annabella’s bdays since she had her first birthday party celebration. Amazing pictures, delivered so instantly fast and easy to share with other guests. We first met when she did my press kit shoot and I was fascinated by how she captured the essence of what was important for the shoot. The energy was so good between us we became friends 🙂 Price assessment Great price”

“An absolutely amazing experience! Twiggles has a true gift for capturing the essence of my baby—the happiness, the loveliness, and all that fun energy. These aren't just pictures; they are precious memories frozen in time. I am so grateful!”

Family photography is about preserving the people, connections and memories that matter most. Whether we meet at home, in your favourite local park or garden, or somewhere that's meaningful to your family, every session is relaxed, natural and never rushed.

Every family is different, so there's no fixed formula. As a family photographer in London, I work around your family rather than expecting your family to work around a photoshoot, allowing children to play, explore and simply be themselves while creating photographs that reflect your personalities and the connection between you.

From newborns and babies to multi-generation family portraits, I photograph families across London in homes, parks and outdoor spaces. Pets are always welcome, and if you're unsure where to meet, I'm always happy to recommend beautiful locations that suit your family, including quieter parks and gardens. I'll also let you know in advance if a location requires a photography permit or fee.

What I Photograph

Natural family portrait in London with parents and children photographed by a London family photographer

I’m experienced in photographing a wide range of skin tones and take care with light, exposure and colour so that everyone looks natural and properly represented in the final photographs. This is particularly important when photographing families with different skin tones, especially in challenging outdoor or low-light conditions.

Family Photography London – Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during a family photography session?

Every family is different, so there's no fixed formula. Sessions are relaxed and built around your family, allowing plenty of time for children to settle naturally. My aim is to capture authentic photographs that reflect your personalities rather than perfectly posed smiles.

How long does a family photography session last?

Most family photography sessions last around an hour, although this can vary depending on the type of session, your chosen location and the ages of your children. I never rush a session, allowing plenty of time for children to settle naturally so we can create authentic photographs that reflect your family's personality.

Should we have our family photos taken at home or outdoors?

Both work beautifully. Home sessions are ideal for newborns, babies and young children, while outdoor sessions are perfect for families who enjoy exploring parks, gardens and open spaces. I'll happily recommend beautiful locations across London that suit your family and the season.

What if my child doesn't cooperate?

That's completely normal. Children don't need to sit still or smile at the camera. The best photographs usually happen while they're chatting, playing, cuddling or simply enjoying time together with the people they love.

    Can grandparents join the session?

Absolutely. Multi-generation family photographs are always welcome and often become some of the most treasured images. They're a wonderful way to capture special family relationships.

Can we include our dog or other pets?

Yes. Pets are part of the family too and are always welcome. They often help children relax, making the whole session feel even more natural and enjoyable.

Do London parks charge photography fees?

Some parks and gardens require photography permits or commercial photography fees, while many don't. I'll always let you know in advance if your chosen location has any additional charges and can recommend beautiful alternatives if you'd prefer.

    What should we wear?

Simple, comfortable clothing in soft, neutral colours photographs beautifully. Avoid large logos or bold graphics where possible. Before your session, I'll happily offer advice on coordinating outfits for the whole family.

Do you offer Christmas family photography?

Yes. Every autumn I release a limited number of Christmas family photography sessions, perfect for festive portraits, Christmas cards and thoughtful gifts for family and friends. Early booking is recommended.

    Do you photograph school proms?

Yes. I photograph school proms and graduation celebrations across London, capturing relaxed portraits of friends, couples and families before the celebrations begin.

When will I receive my photographs?

Your professionally edited photographs are usually delivered within 24 hours. During particularly busy periods, including the Christmas season, delivery may take up to 48 hours. If you need a small selection urgently, just let me know before your session.
